Another FTTF question

I am sailing on Liberty next weekend. I was given a 12 - 12:30 boarding time which is fine but since we live an hour from the port I thought I would go for FTTF so we can start a bit earlier on board (stateroom ready early). The time they are showing on the website is 12-1. That doesn't get us on board any earlier. Is that time written in stone or do FTTF guests get to board earlier than that. Thanks in advance

You'll get to board with the fourth group: Ignore your reservation time....The reservation time is the time you're allowed to begin the whole process.

Weddings

Diamond

Platinum

FTTF

I am wondering about FTTF also. Does anyone know the earliest time you can pick to check in without FTTF? Wondering the earliest someone without FTTF can check in and what time they ususally wind up on board. Thanks in advance!

Earliest is going to vary by port. With FTTF you can enter the terminal when the port opens and board as soon as they start but behind some more premium bookings. First boarding is behind all those and you are not always going to be able to book the earliest non FTTF slot.

Not only does arrival appointment times vary from port to port it can vary sailing to sailing. Many times both the terminal and the cruise line will start later if a particular itinerary is leaving later than the normal 4pm.

Also don't confuse your arrival appointment with being your boarding time. Boarding will occur after all previous passengers have left, the USGC (or other local maritime authority) does any inspections or tests it wants/required to do, and Customs gives clearance. Sometimes boarding is further delayed because other government agencies like the USDA or CDC do "surprise" inspections as well. So those with an early arival appointment might find themselves waiting and hour or 2 before being allowed to board Once boarding begins here's the order they handle any oncoming passengers in.

- Back 2 Back passengers

- Wedding Parties

- Diamond, Platinum, and Suites

- Special invitee passengers (like premier casino passengers)

- FttF passengers

- Zone or general boarding passengers

Once boarding begins priority ticketed passengers, when finished with check-in join the next available group boarding. Once the general/zone waiting area is more or less empty then the check-in clerks direct all passengers to the gangway as they finish.

You get on when the ship is ready.

Port Canaveral has ships ready to board quickly based on my recent cruises out of there. We sailed on Liberty last November and this past March. Both times we were on the ship by 11:15 AM. Last month on Magic we were on the ship at 10:30 AM. That is the earliest I have ever boarded a ship.

I agree with this. We were on the Magic in May and at 10:37am I was sitting at Guy's eating a burger. It was great to be on that early.
