Just booked a b2b so I could join some friends on a 4day but wanted to extend it a bit. What can we expect?

Expect twice as much fun!

If your question is referring to process, it varies, depending upon the port authorities, but most likely you will be escorted off the ship on embarkation day, down to customs, then escorted back. You will also be issued a new ship card. Assuming you are in the same cabin for both cruises, that's about it. Some have reported getting photos made, but I have not experienced this. Make sure you stop by guest services during cruise #1 to check and see if your cruises have been linked. Most likely yes, but it never hurts to make sure. A few have reported their cruises were not linked.

Have fun!

Oh, yes you will have to go to the muster drill on both cruises.

My daughter and I did a b2b during spring break last year. The first 4 days were all families with kids (super fun as I am awaiting my first grandchild!). The second leg was ALL college kids having a ball for themselves! I loved both legs. We got our picture taken and we were the only b2b and we also got a bottle of champagne! Everyone on the second leg reffered to us as the b2b cruisers. It was super fun! It was always on my bucket list so we figured why not? Next up on my bucket list is a "Solo" cruise!

We were given a letter the last evening, explaining where to meet and at what time the morning of Debarkation after the 1st cruise. Met there with the other family of 4 that were doing B2B. Waited for a Ship's officer to escort the group off the ship, through customs and back onto the ship. Received new Sail & Sign cards as soon as we were back on board.

We didn't get any champagne!!!

We've only done one B2B (next one in 25 days, woooohooooo), but this is exactly what happened for us as well. We did get recognized by the crew as another poster mentioned too. The turnover day ended up being one of our favorites- it was so much fun running around the ship after we came back from customs while it was still almost completely empty. :)

This time we are switching cabins, but specifically chose our cabins (interior for the first 5-day leg, balcony for the second 8-day leg) so that we could have the same steward/ cabin service team. Last time we stayed in the same cabin and it was so easy!

When you are doing a B2B, you can also bring on 2 bottles of 750ml wine per 21+ passenger (1 per leg) when you board the for the first leg; they will hold the second bottle and return it to you on the final night. Another tip if you like in-cabin cocktails: you can purchase a bottle from duty free on the the first leg (or at one of the ports), pick it up on the "last night" and enjoy it during the second leg of the cruise.

Happy cruising!!!!!! :cool::hearteyes:

This is my warning. B2B's ARE ADDICTIVE. We live quite a ways from port, so for us it just seems to make sense to maximize our time on the ship since it costs so much for air.

We have completed 3 b2b's. Another was cut in half by a broken arm, and another turned in to a side by side when the Liberty had an engine fire in Saint Thomas. If not for those incidents we would have 5 b2b's behind us and we have another booked for the first of September.

Vacation time is precious and it seems that if you have busy lives at home it takes a few days to wind down and relax. Those extra few days a b2b provide mean you have time to wind down and still have time to enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Have a wonderful vacation.

I loved our b2b. It’s fun when you walk off the ship and see everyone sitting there waiting and you go through customs and then walk above them (Miami) and right back on and have those few minutes on the ship to yourself. They took our picture, gave us mimosa, and had a fruit/nut basket in our room. (We kept the same room - do this!)

  • 2 weeks later...

Thank you all!! I’m so excited! A b2b has always been on my bucket list ever since I found out about them and just got a friend who’s never cruises before to come with us. I’m getting her addicted early!! I’m going to have our friends who are doing the 1st leg buy a bottle of liquor for us from the shop so we can have it on the second leg. (I’ve read if you are a b2b they would hold it till your second leg if they knew)

You can expect that GREAT feeling, when you see everyone else with that "down look" because they have to leave the ship, but you know that for you, it's all just starting again. I personally LOVE doing a B2B, and will do them as often as I can.

We almost always cruise b2b!

You will meet up with the rest of the b2b's somewhere on the ship on the day your first week ends,

then you'll be escorted off the ship, meet border control where they'll quickly check your passport/ID,

then you'll be led back on the ship to get a glass of Champagne/orange juice,

have a picture taken of the b2b's,

then you'll have the ship to yourself until the next cruise people board, which is usually within a half hour!
