riclop Posted August 14, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Hey ya'll, I just got an upgrade call for our cruise this Sunday. We are currently booked in an interior with a walkway window. They offered us the balcony on lido for $400.00. Seems a little steep for me... or am I being cheap? Be honest, I can take it;p. Also, I always assumed the lido rooms would be loud. What's been your experience? Lido towards the front + no noise. Go with what you can afford.
TNcruising02 Posted August 14, 2018 #27 Share Posted August 14, 2018 I would love it if I got a call with that upset offer. I love the Lido deck and a balcony cabin makes it an easy choice for me.
HawkIVette Posted August 14, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 14, 2018 I was able to find the cost below on a website I use sometimes... ;) Cost is per person. I think this is your sailing.. 7 Night Western Caribbean Carnival Breeze Departing from: Galveston, Texas Ports of Call: Montego Bay, Jamaica • George Town, Grand Cayman • Cozumel, Mexico Interior from $629 Oceanview from $914 Balcony from $1,079 Suite U?A August 12, 2018 through–August 19, 2018 If this truely is your cruise, the prices above are usually per person, as stated. So an interior 4J really has no view, except for a deck looking forward. Can't see much. Reguardless, an Interior ($629) to a Balcony ($1079) is a $240 difference. $240 x 2 = $480, plus a few dollars more from deck 7 to deck 10 (say $3 per person per day) $42 is a total difference of $522. I like balconies for views like the Mediterainean, Panama Canel, but not for the ports on this cruise. I would not have taken the upsell. Doesn't matter much now since you are already on your cruise.
