marshhawk Posted August 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 11, 2018 FTTF usually holds out a few, based on how many platinum's and Diamonds are cruising. Once that is known, then they may release some. And if you really Really want it, then check every day!. We like getting FTTF because we can get into our cabin early. To the elderly, ones with little ones, and those with tons of baggage when boarding, FTTF really pays off. If you are doing excursions through the cruise line, then there is not need, but if you need to get off early to do your own personal thing, it's good. If you are cruising to a private island, like Half Moon Cay, or the Princess Cay, again, you are on the first boat, go to guest services, and they will have an elevator just for you, and take you down to the tenders. I guess you need to figure out which reason you are purchasing it for, and then see if it meets your needs to spend more. I am not sure that they offered it on our Alaska cruise, but that was a cruise that we didn't need it for. We have for health reasons purchased it ever since Carnival started offering it. Except for our next cruise. It was sold out, and not sure if I needed it. We have cut down our "carry on" the more we cruise. ;p Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My wife and I both carry small bags with items (such as an iPad, expensive Charlotte Tilbury makeup, etc) we'd rather not check with the baggage, and it'll be great not having to lug them around the ship whilst waiting for our room to become available. If FTTF slots show up after full payment, it likely means that someone either cancelled the cruise, or the cruise line cancelled 'em when they didn't receive full payment in time. Either way, it's a good possibility for seeing slots open up. I suggest checking at least twice daily, once in the early morning and once later in the afternoon or evening, to see if a slot opens up due to a cancellation. I've been lucky this way twice. I just don't understand how it helps you in Cabo when tendering? If you are standing in long lines in the stairwells (typical lines on tender days), how does FTTF help you when the staff cannot see the sticker on your SS card (b/c your stuck with a ton of people in a stairwell)? Also, how can we debark early? Do we just show a staff member our SS card with FTTF and they escort us through all the long lines to debark? At a tendering port, you go to Guest Services and they escort you down to the tenders and you walk right on. As another poster mentioned, you will get a letter with luggage tags telling you where to meet. It's usually been in one of the dining rooms for us. Although FTTF passengers still have to pick a time during online check-in, it has no effect.
