rols Posted August 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We are now on our third flight back from Dubai next April . Two airlines have now withdrawn their flight leaving us with a 1.30 am flight. not what I would have chosen .Originally with Virgin and then with BA 9.30 am . One of the runways at Dubai airport is closed for serious maintenance work April 2019 which is severely limiting capacity in and out. So many flights have been cancelled and airlines encouraged to fly larger planes fewer times a day. Basically if it's possible to avoid flying through Dubai between April and mid May 2019, avoid it. Obviously you can't, but if other people are planning travel it's worth knowing.
dalliowner Posted August 19, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Many thanks , that explains it. Seabourn were very good in supplying hotel when original flight was changed to next day and will supply day room for the 1.30 flight. Just pleased I booked flight via Seabourn otherwise would have been a nightmare sorting myself.
florisdekort Posted August 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Or just fly Emirates. We connect in Dubai at least once a month, and never had a problem - so far. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dalliowner Posted August 19, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Unfortunately we are booked premium economy and Emirates do not fly that class.
Tillylovesseabourn Posted August 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Emirates or Etihad out of Abu Dhabi about an hour away are the only way to go really.
