Florings Posted September 11, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Just a suggestion, pick 2 or 3 things that you really want to do and write them on a sticky note. Put that on the mirror in your cabin. Sometimes I get so busy doing nothing at all, and I forget about the new things that I wanted to try. This little note keeps me focused. Sent from my iPhone using Forums This is a great idea! Every one of our cruises, I've wanted to do the Martini Tasting at Alchemy. And I've missed it every time! I get so busy doing other things or nothing at all. I'm doing the sticky note this time.
Kermarkim Posted September 11, 2018 #27 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I love the theatre shows, from the concerts and musicals to the game shows. My favorite is the Love and Marriage Show. I also like to people watch on the Lido deck especially during the sail away party. And some ships have a night time white party. I love watching the folks dance. Also the Comedians. I only go to the early shows because the late shows get pretty raunchy with the comedy and jokes. Lastly, I enjoy trying out all the foods I would never dare spend the money to buy back at home. Like escargot, frog legs, etc. Try everything and especially the chocolate melting cake.
mamaw Posted September 11, 2018 #28 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Muster drill. Miss that and your cruise will be very short. On a more serious note..... sail away, get in a position to watch the lines being cast off and the ship moving away from the dock using its own power, no tugs. Kitchen tour. Sunset at sea. Going under a bridge if you lucky enough to have that happen. Viewed from top deck. Getting your picture taken with the Captain. Find the lucky coin. Explore the ship on a sea day. If you can, get outside on the bow deck as close to bow as possible and look down. Relax on balcony and watch the sea go by. Try to spot dolphins, flying fish, other ships etc. Take as many pictures as possible. You'll be glad you did. Make some new friends. Eat something you never tried before. Have Warm Chocolate Melting Cake for dessert. Book another cruise. Sent from my iPad using Forums do all the ships have kitchen tours, I tried to go on one time and they didn't do them at that time, but it's been a while. mamaw Posted September 11, 2018 #29 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I dont care about the ship coin, the ship bench, the behind the fun tour, etc. We never go to shows either. When we board, we go to our room (have FTTF) drop off carry on, head to the Lido for a Guys Burger and a fun ship. We like to do the steakhouse the first night, and we have pre-dinner drinks at the Alchemy. For our upcoming cruise- my priorities are to go to the comedy shows, piano bar, lay out on the serenity deck with a yummy drink, casino, and we spend a lot of time at the alchemy bar. Oh, and we eat at the sea day brunch each sea day. Everyone is different and really, each vacation may have different priorities. We dont care much about ports or excursions, we are really there to spend time relaxing and reconnecting. Life at home is crazy busy so we like the change of pace. HI, ok in reading your post, I wondered what FTTF was? Never heard of it. thanks.
beshears Posted September 12, 2018 #30 Share Posted September 12, 2018 All of these are good suggestions. We will be doing the Fascination for the first time the end of March next year. I have done many cruises, and the itinerary I have done it more than once, but I want to go back to St. Lucia (very expensive flying from Missouri to San Juan) for the 3rd or final time. It is my "favorite" place to be or visit.:) Someone mentioned about forgetting about tea time because it is hot "outside." Well I enjoy tea time, as it is very cool/COLD sometimes on the ship, and it tastes good at that time!
Crazy4Camping Posted September 12, 2018 Author #31 Share Posted September 12, 2018 HI, ok in reading your post, I wondered what FTTF was? Never heard of it. thanks. My understanding is that this stands for "First to the Fun" and it requires an extra fee to expedite boarding onto the ship.

Close - it's Faster to the Fun. For an extra fee you receive many of the same benefits as Platinum/Diamond cruisers. Priority Boarding (after wedding parties, P/D, and Suites), immediate cabin access, priority tendering, dedicated guest services line, priority dining choice (but not guaranteed), and priority disembarkment are the key features.
ricew001 Posted September 13, 2018 #33 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Day-drinking in a lounger near the aft-pool is my go-to sea day activity. :) Winner winner chicken dinner. My favorite thing too. Not a big fan of frozen drinks except when I'm outside on a ship! With Cheers I order another shot to add to it! I don't day drink in real life so the ship is nice to have a few drinks and then catch a nap on the serenity deck!
