I assume the same applies to St. Kitts. I read older posts that said... US dollars accepted but expect change in local currency - eastern Caribbean dollar. Current exchange rate is about 1 US to 2.7 ECD but, on the street, it's usually simplified to 1 to 2.5. Bring new US dollars, old bills not always accepted. Go to bank before leaving home to get new bills. Bring small bills $1, $5, $10, $20. Larger bills might not be accepted. Easier to give exact amount. Any places where must use the eastern Caribbean dollar? I don't mind some change back in local currency. Makes a nice souvenir and something to bring back home for kids.
