thebig60 Posted September 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2018 Any suggestions on excursions for June 29 Royal Princess to Alaska? On our last big cruise we met on cruise critic and joined on some small group excursions. Some turned out to be less expensive, but more importantly, we had a fabulous time. Kayaking is the only thing I know we won’t do
JF - retired RRT Posted September 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2018 You could check your roll call (if there is one) or the Ports of Call board or look at some of the Alaska reviews that have appeared recently. Leaving for Alaska soon and the only thing that I know that I want to do is the Skagway train/bus tour.
moki'smommy Posted September 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2018 In Skagway we did the Kroeschel Animal Sanctuary. It ended up being one of those "best ever" excursions. It is like nothing you've ever seen or done before. This was SO much better than the train /vehicle return from previous cruise. Juneau--this trip, we did a sea plane to Taku lodge. Previous trip, we did private whale watching. Both were excellent...it is just a "what do you want." Ketchikan, we did a wildlife hike thing. We did see 2 bears and lots of trees, but since we also saw bears and wildlife on our other excursions, it was a good thing this was the first day. I wouldn't do it again. It was a lot of money for what we got.
Rare geoherb Posted September 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2018 I don't know if Princess still offers snorkeling in Ketchikan. If it does, you should do it. It's one of our all-time favorite experiences.
