I did the Panama Canal earlier this year and organised a private tour in Puntarenas - Costa Rica. Not sure if you are stopping there or not. It was a great tour and everyone enjoyed it.

The tour company was Thumbsuptours and we did the Puntarenas Highlights 10 in 1 Mega Combo Tour.

The cost depends on the amount of people but we paid approx $70 us each.

We have done the Panama Canal :)

What ports are you going to before/after the Panama Canal??

Miama things to do and transport to the Port

Depending on where you stay in Miami, some of the hotels close to the port do offer shuttle bus to the port, other wise a taxi or uber will take you the port.

LA transport from the port to the Hotel and things to do

We are going to Los Angeles on our South America cruise, so will be interested in any info anyone gives :)

We loved the Panama canal cruise that we did, we used a ships tour for Colon and Panama City as nailing down an exact time was proving difficult. The other ports for Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Colombia we did a mixture of our own and CC excursions.

You don't have a lot of time in LA and there's so much to see and do. Santa Monica is lovely, lots of shopping and there is the pier and beach. You can walk, cycle or segway to Venice beach from there. Book a bus tour to do Hollywood sign, walk of fame, stars homes etc. Griffith observatory is good as a lookout. Universal studios was a fun day. I don't mind driving in LA and you will see much more with a car as it's a driving city, not big on public transport. I've been a couple of times if you have any questions.
