Is there dinner first night in San Juan ?

SInce the ship doesn't leave till 11:00 pm Do you get dinner and entertainment the Saturday

We just returned from the Golden last month and had Traditional dinig for the cruise. Saturday night was treated like any other night- regular dining and full range of shows and activities. The dresscode was smart casual.

We went for dinner on second seating last year in San Jaun.

 

The dining room was practically empty, was nice to have the waiter to ourselves for the evening.

On some longer cruises where we've boarded the ship but didn't sail until the next day, the first night was "open" seating in the dining room. I'm sure that's more unusual than the norm but rest assured that there'll be dining and entertainment your first evening.

When do they perform the lifeboat drill when leaving from SJU? And when do most people typically board? We like getting there early, normally like 1030 to be one of the first in line. :)

We were on the Golden in November. Muster drill was at 8 p.m. We ate dinner around 6 p.m. in the PC dining room. We boarded around 12:30 p.m., ate lunch in the Horizon Court and left the ship to walk around OSU. Have a great cruise.

We cruised the Golden in December. Muster drill was 8PM as stated above. We arrived at the pier at 1:30PM- long lines- took about 45 minutes to enter the ship.
