actuarian Posted September 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2018 My wife are in Aqua Class for our November cruise and we made some dining reservations via Cruise Planner. For the days that we did not select specialty restaurants, we made Celebrity Select reservations. Does anyone know whether those reservations be honored at Blu or at the Main Dining Room (or not be honored at all)?
Iamthesea Posted September 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Neither. You are not supposed to eat in the MDR, so no reservations there. And for Blu, it's a first come, first served venue. ;)
Luvcrusn Posted September 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2018 When you are in Aqua class your assigned dining room is Blu so there is no need to make any Select dining reservations (which are only for the MDR). Blu has no reservations accepted and works like Select dining in the MDR. You will find a dining time for the first evening only in your stateroom on embarkation day, but if you don't like the time you may still go when you like and have no problem. They only do that to try to make the first dinner experience run more smoothly. Also, as Blu patrons the first evening we've been offered nice specialty dining discounts (up to 50% off). We've only had to wait once when we were given a beeper and the wait was under 5 minutes. You may request to be seated with the same wait staff nightly. If you wish to dine in the MDR on any given night just let the maître d in Blu know and they will make a reservation for you in the Select area of the MDR. The dining experience is lovely in Blu and the service is wonderful, so we've never left it unless we wanted to dine in a specialty restaurant when in Aqua class. Perhaps your confusion is caused by the X website which has inexplicably no mechanism to indicate the dining in Blu, and I've seen it listed in my reservations as Early, Late or Select on various cruises. Ignore what it says on the website and don't worry about making reservations. When dining in Blu they're not accepted or needed.
