bunkrest Posted September 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Looking at an obstructed ocean view cabin on the Queen Elizabeth. Can someone tell me how obstructed the view really is? Can I see anything at all? Thanks. If you go onto the Cunard web site top right hand corner click on help and advice once there type in obstructed view in the search box you will find pictures there. Hope that helps. Sent from my iPad using Forums
bluemarble Posted September 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2018 (edited) Since you are in the UK, this link to a page on the Cunard UK FAQ should work for you to give you an idea of what the obstructed views look like on QE. What do the obstructed views look like on Queen Elizabeth? Edited September 21, 2018 by bluemarble
Rare babs135 Posted September 21, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Thanks for the quick replies. Now for the more difficult questions: How do I persuade DH that the cruise I've seen for May 2020 is the one he really really wants to do and book an oceanview cabin as well?? :D:D
VintageCCG Posted September 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2018 How do I persuade DH that the cruise I've seen for May 2020 is the one he really really wants to do and book an oceanview cabin as well?? :D:D One approach is to wait until about 4-5 months prior to the date, when the cost of any unsold cabins get reduced significantly. There is always a risk that you cannot select your exact preference in cabin, but I just returned from a 2-week return Trans-Atlantic voyage on QM2 in a Deck 12 Balcony for which I paid less than a low-deck interior or sheltered or obstructed-view cabin. I simply tracked the prices month-by-month until they dropped into my price-range, about 4 months prior to departure. PJ
Shuffleboard Dude Posted September 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2018 There seems to be a price cut two months before the cruise - something like a "Cunard late fare", but I'm no price/booking guru, I rather concentrate on shuffleboard, afternoon tea and occaisonal spa visits. phillipahain Posted September 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2018 Theres more than one kind of obstructed view cabin on QE 5077 and either side are fine you are simply looking out onto the mechanics and the tops of the tenders ...the base of the balcony is level with the tops of the tenders so no great issues
