Carnival Vista - Galveston - earliest boarding time

Does anyone know what time they allow platinum guests to start boarding? We were rather late booking our cruise for the October 14 date out of Galveston. We're platinum but the earliest check in time was 12:30. I talked to my vacation planner and she said that boarding started at 1:00, which I thought was pretty late. I know some ports have later boarding times, but the ones we've always been on (N.O., Mobile, Galveston) have always started boarding around 11:00 or so. Does anyone know for sure?

Since your question is specific to Vista and Galveston you won't find many answers since she has only docked there once.

We've sailed from Galveston twice and found that embarkation starts between 11 and 11:30. I think I have seen something where that particular sail date had a change of itinerary so maybe there is something special about that date. Since you are platinum I would just go whenever. Our trick recently is just to wait until boarding begins (watching the galveston webcams) and head to the port then and the check in process is so streamlined that you never stop moving really.

Your PVP does not know what she is talking about.

I was told to ignore the boarding times, but it kinda makes you pick a time when you are filling out your boarding pass.

Im just going to show up around 10:30 am and if there is a wait so be it. Im on Vista 11/11 and platinum (so Galveston as well)

Though i do have a boarding time lol, but last time I asked I was told to ignore it if you are platinum and go before the first assigned times. so 11ish probably start boarding, but there have been times they got on earlier.

My thinking is arrive before 11 so Im all checked in and ready to board by 11.

my last cruise last Dec, had over 500 priority guests all in the priority lounge and overflowing. There were having some casino cruise thing going.

We had over 200 diamonds on that cruise who boarded first, then platinums, so i dont think its the same every time. depends how many priority guests there are.

Ill be at 168 days ... getting there to diamond

Thanks everyone! I thought boarding probably started around 1:00, regardless of what she told me, especially since ship sails at 4:00. When she told me boarding started at 1:00 on Vista in Galveston I wasn't sure how that would be possible with a sail time of 4:00. I'm just going to show up around 11:00 and if I have to wait so be it! Also, I saw a copy of a fun time yesterday for the Vista out of Galveston and it showed activities starting at 11:30 like spa tours so surely they wouldn't schedule those things if boarding didn't start until 1:00.

Again thanks!

We have sailed many times out of Galveston, and we are Platinum. The earliest we got to the port was 10:45 and boarding for Magic had already started. Magic isn't quite as big, but pretty close. I would think you could start boarding around 11. Check in time around 10:30. Happy Cruising!
