OBC for Excursions?

I'm new to cruising and feel like I have read and searched all the boards. On Princess when booking excursions pre-cruise, can we use our OBC to cover the excursion costs or part of the costs? If so how does this work?

When you book, it will subtract the amount of OBC that you have then you pay the extra, if there is any.

It will only take the OBC from the account of the person the excursion is booked for.

 

In other words, if you book an excursion for Person A in a cabin and also for Person B in that cabin, it will use OBC (if any) for Person A's excursion and OBC (if any) for Person B's excursion. It does this even if all the OBC is in Person A's account.

It has been my experience that when I pre-book an excursion for the two of us and use OBC, Princess will take the money needed for the excursion from both of us. Princess will take the money for my excursion from my OBC. They will take the money for the DW from the DW's OBC. Since I get more OBC than the DW does due to shareholder OBC and military OBC, I often have to pay for the DW's excursion at the time of booking even though I have several hundred left in my OBC.

 

On the ship however since my CC guarantees both of our folios, all expenses are taken out of our two combined OBC. If however we both guaranteed our own folio, this would not be the case. However I have on prior cruises gone to the PSD and asked that an excursion that we wanted to give to our DS and DIL transfered to my folio.

Just call Princess and they will work it out for you. IF you book the excursions online the system will only take OBC for the person for whom you are booking the tour and then will ask you to pay for the balance.

I recently (two days ago) booked shore excursions with our 'Landmarks' sale OBC. I clicked on each of our names on the shore excursion page for a particular tour and automatically, the OBC available for each of us came up with the amount deducted. Or, you could scroll down and pay using a credit card.
