You do realize that it's 14 hours by road and 8 hours by bullet train, right? You can fly. Unless it!s a multiday trip to xi'an, it's a little crazy, Imho.

 

The distance from the ports to the major sites is one reason that China isn't really a good cruise itinerary. Hence, I did it with an organized group tour, combining bus and airline flughts. Xi'an was just one ofc the many highlights.
