The cabin stewards work all morning an part of the afternoon before taking a break before returning for their evening service.  You should simply speak to your cabin steward early in your cruise (you will likely meet him/her the first day) and explain your situation.  You steward can certainly clean your cabin while you continue to sit on your balcony, but this would mean that he/she would not have an opportunity to clean your balcony.   There have been a few times when our steward would clean our cabin while we sat on the balcony and we would simply say a very friendly "hello" and tell him/her that we will be on the balcony and there is no need for him to clean that area today.

THAnk you....I just know in a hotel they get upset if you are in your room to often even when you are staying for a few days...I guess if we walk back in on them it’s not as though we are interrupting anything private...really looking forward to our cruise have never had more than one sea day before...

The cabin stewards are wonderful and will work around your schedule, which they learn very quickly.  In our case usually our cabin is made up when we are at breakfast.  Then they aren't back until later when we're at dinner.  Of course there are times when the morning service runs later, but as Hank said, just let them know your preferences and everything will be fine.  There was only one time we had to leave our balcony, that was so they could do the wash-down that day.
