Bus to Baha Mar from the cruiseport

The bus ride is about 15 minutes as mafig said.  But to add to that, you sometimes have to wait a few minutes for the bus to leave the bus stop.  The first stop is downtown and the driver will wait until the bus is at least mostly full before leaving.

The driver will drop you off across the street from Baha Mar and you can catch it back to port just in front of the hotel.  Buses come along pretty frequently, probably every 5 minutes or so.

We've taken the bus many times and find it to be a good option.  Just be sure you catch the #10 bus, NOT #10A or #10B as they will take you out of the way.  We accidentally hopped on the #10A bus back to port once and it took almost 45 minutes to get back.  Good thing we had given ourselves plenty of time!

Buses run from 6am - 6pm or so.   They usualyy take about 15 mins for the 5 mile trek, but during rush hour can take 40 mins or more.  Taxis have the same issues with traffic, so leave plenty of time.   Buses are transport for Local workers , so  they can detour a bit.       Drop off is downtown on George st.   A few short blocks from the cruise port.

How do we know what stop to get off for the Baha Mar? Does the bus driver announce the stops?

When you get on the bus, tell the driver that you want to get off at Baha Mar.  You can't miss it - it's huge. 🙂 It's just past Breezes, if that helps, but you'll probably see Baha Mar before you see Breezes.

Oh, I remembered one thing.  When I said to walk straight out to catch the bus to return, don't stand in the intersection, go past it.  If you stand in the intersection (like we first did:classic_blush:) the cars think you want to cross and they stop for you.

From what I have read, you are allowed in the casino but nowhere else on property, so no pool area, beach areas, or restaurants in these areas.  Just the casino and the bar restaurant in the casino.  I plan on checking out the casino on my next cruise.
