Miami hotel - for runners pre-cruise

DH and I like to come in a day or two early before a cruise.  We also are runners and in the past, this has been pretty easy in Fort Lauderdale and even San Juan.  I'm not sure which hotel(s) would be recommended and close to a running path?  I'm assuming everything "close" to port is more in the City and might be harder to find a route.  Any suggestions?  We also like a place with a pool if at all possible.  This isn't until *next* December (2019) so we have some time, but being a Type A, I prefer to book well in advance.  Thanks for any advice.
