Rotterdam to Delft

We will be on the Voyage of the Vikings in August, 2019.  We are scheduled to be in Rotterdam from 7 AM to 5 PM.  I understand Delft is close to Rotterdam.  I understand we can take a tram or train between the two cities, and we would have to take a taxi to the train station.   Are there any other alternative transport such as Uber or Lyft?   Any suggestions for a day trip to Delft from Rotterdam?  Thank you.

It's a train from Rotterdam Centraal. And you can get the metro there from Wilhelminaplein station, which is only a couple of hundred yards from the cruise terminal.

Given how fast and easy it is by metro and train, why would you?

We would always opt for Uber. The prices quoted begin @ 21€ which seems reasonable to me.
