Bidding upgrade and tips

If you pre-pay your tips and then you get an bid upgrade to Haven -- do they charge you the difference?

 

I think pre-paid tips are $200 more, once you get into haven (for a family of 4)

Nope! If you prepaid the standard DSC, you won’t get charged the Haven DSC.

 

Neither service charge covers the butler or concierge, so tip them accordingly. 

 

The only thing that might go up is your trip insurance, if you bought through NCL.

YES that would be true - so pay the DSC in advance before the upgrade bid is awarded

then you are grandfathered in.

The difference is about $3 per person per night or about $42 on a 7 day cruise for two.

Yup. Your NCL insurance will go up a lot! It is based on the cost of the Haven room, not your bid price.
