Tampa Port / Accomidation / Transportation ?

Will be traveling out of Tampa for a Christmas cruise. I am interested in arriving a day early and am looking for recommendations for overnight stay. Also, advice on securing transportation to the above hotel. And finally advice on hotel to port transportation. Cost involved on transportation would also be appreciated.

They have free shuttle to the port. We were happy. I booked right on holiday inns website and booked : Bast avail rate". Then you can find it cheaper anywere within 24 hours and they will match.

Tampa airport is very close to the port...20 minutes by taxi if that. It costs $18 for a taxi. We stayed at a hotel int eh airport area. They provided free shuttle from the airport and free breakfast. we stayed at Chase Suites. We got it on Hotwire. There is a Bahama Breeze right next door to have dinner.

 

Many people stay down near the port. I think that is the downtown area on Hotwire and Priceline.

Youw on't have any problems getting fromt he airport to port. Tampa airport and port are very user friendly.

When searching hotels on an online site, if you view the hotel details or nearby attractions, it will give mileage to the airport and port. TPA is Tampa International Airport, PIE is St Pete/Clearwater Airport and the mileage to Tampa is to the downtown area, where the seaport is located. This will give you an idea of the hotel location in relation to the airport and the seaport. Most of the major chains will probably shuttle you from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the seaport free of charge if staying there pre-cruise and likewise if staying there after. That would save a few bucks.
