DeputyDawg46 Posted November 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2018 So I book a cruise while on a RCCL cruise. I join a TA. I transfer my cruise to TA. What are the advantages to doing this? What do I get from TA for doing this? Do I lose the OBC that RCCL gave me when I booked on the cruise? Does TA charge me anything? Do I make my excursions with RCCL or with TA? Do I add any packages like Internet with RCCL or TA? Who do I make my final payment to...RCCL or TA? Thoughts? Thanks DeputyDawg

Again, depends on the TA. Mine doesn’t. Do I make my excursions with RCCL or with TA? RCCL via cruise planner. Do I add any packages like Internet with RCCL or TA? RCCL via cruise planner. Who do I make my final payment to...RCCL or TA? TA Thoughts? I use a TA. Perks aren’t great but they always beat Royal’s price. Clarea Posted November 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2018 Potential advantages to moving your booking to a travel agent vary. Speak to the travel agent for details. You don't lose OBC from booking onboard. You use your Cruise Planner on Royal's website for excursions, specialty dining, beverage packages, internet, etc. You make all payments via the travel agent. The travel agent usually facilitates Royal charging your card directly.

Reece7r Posted November 30, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2018 It will also keep some revenue locally as Royal will pay your TA commission.
taglovestocruise Posted November 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2018 We transfer over to our online TA and usually pick up prepaid gratuities, specialty dining and added OBC, and still keep whatever Royal has offered.
Wine-O Posted November 30, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2018 Since RCCL has my TA in my profile, when I book a cruise on board, they will transfer the booking directly to my TA unless I ask them not to.
