Hey Roy, looks like the Edge made it to Prince George wharf in Nassau

I had no doubt she could fit there; it was the number of ships there that required tendering.  I would have thought Celebrity would have given docking priority to Edge over Infinity, but perhaps there were not enough berths at Prince George to accommodate another HUGE ship.

Which way is up? If one didn't know any better, one could think we're looking at her stern in that pic

Only by the absence of a funnel.  Once we get LNG ships will we be able to tell at all?

Ugh!  Is that a ship or a submarine?  Those fins on the stacks look like fins to be used to regulate depth under water.

Supposed to be a design for the "Nouveau France" - Don't believe it went anywhere. Those aren't funnels/stacks but two superstructures :classic_cool:

  • French art de vivre, with decor designed by the top French creators, a unique allure found throughout the ship, creative gourmet dining developed by Alain Ducasse, unique spaces like the « Undersea Bar », the « Rooftop Pool », a paddling marina and an exotic garden next to a spa and thalassotherapy centre for the utmost relaxation.
  • More space per passenger than most cruise ships.
  • Suites equipped with balconies, the smallest being larger than 30 m2.
  • Design with a difference: the Nouveau FRANCE could not be a « copy/paste » of other cruise ships, most of which all look the same. To avoid this, it takes the lines of a modern hull with a straight, imposing stem, onto which two majestic superstructures are added, a nod to the two legendary funnels of the original France, inaugurated by General De Gaulle in 1962; these « funnels » have been converted into spaces for the passengers: restaurants, lounges and suites.
  • An omnipresent ecological component, in terms of both waste management and energy consumption, using the most recent technologies available for ships.

Lenght:            195 m

  • Width:               27 m
  • Draught:             6 m
  • Measure:         37.000 tonneaux
  • Capacity:        460 passengers

According to Marine Traffic, looks like Rotterdam is docked behind Carnival at the smaller terminal #6.  Wonder why neither of them are at terminal #2, which is much larger than #6?  Terminal #6 is really too small to handle 1400 embarking guests.  Maybe that is partly why HAL is not coming back to Tampa next winter???
