Cozumel shopping

On Equinox in February. I have limited mobility and use a cane or walker. Is there shopping on or at the pier in Cozumel? Am interested in purchasing vanilla.

There is a very nice shopping area right by the pier.  No issues with limited mobility.  I think they even had a small shuttle from the ships exit to the shopping area but not sure if I am confusing ports there.

There is a shopping area just off the pier.  You do not have to leave the complex and the area is secure.  Vanilla is a popular item purchased.  There are a variety of stores and food/drink establishments as well.  This whole area has improved significantly over the years.  

 

Make sure you bring a plastic baggie just in case the bottle leaks in your luggage.  Not likely but...

There is a drug store, pharmacia,  there as well if you need to pick up something. Overpriced of course, but handy. I believe the poster who mentioned a shuttle is thinking of Costa Maya.

Before you buy vanilla products in Mexico spend a little time researching what you are probably buying.  A good source of info is www.vanillaqueen.com

In the event you don't find what you want in Mexico, you can always buy

Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vanilla, 33.3 Oz bottle on ebay for about $16.00.  8 oz bottles are cheaper.
