hawkeye65 Posted December 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2018 We have sailed on Celebrity (the most), Carnival, and Princess (never again). We're new to HAL. The Celebrity board has a thread about the secret best cabins on each ship. Is there a similar thread on HAL? We're debating between a Eurodam and a Oosterdam cruise in late Sept out of Seattle. Does anyone have some advice that might help our decision? TIA.
I like vacation Posted December 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2018 (edited) Take a look at halfacts.com for pictures and some comments on some of the cabins on the various ships. https://halfacts.com/ here is a good example about a Eurodam cabin with comments http://halfacts.com/signature-class/4054-eurodam/ Edited December 28, 2018 by I like vacation add info
cruiserchuck Posted December 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2018 We also usually sail Celebrity, and were recently on the Eurodam. We liked it very much. I searched the reviews here to try to find out information about various cabins. We chose one just aft of the rear elevators on deck 6, and we never felt much movement or any vibration. There was a lot of movement at the front and back of the ship on several days.
Djptcp Posted December 29, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Neptune Suite on same deck as Neptune Lounge.....can't beat it. We have one booked on the Oosterdam in a few weeks. Have had them on four other HAL ships. If you can't do a Neptune, our first three HAL cruises were in verandah cabins near mid elevators - good size, comfortable cabins with nice balconies. For the verandah cabins, we preferred a central location to avoid balconies with solid steel railings.
School library lady Posted December 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2018 We were on the Eurodam last month and really liked Veranda cabin 4141. Right behind the aft elevators, but hardly ever heard any noise.
Sea42 Posted December 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) A nice compromise between a Neptune Suite and a balcony cabin is a Signature Suite. Lot's of room especially for a longer cruise. Most of the suite amenities are not offer with a Signature Suite but for us the extra room was wonderful! RuthC Posted December 29, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2018 The largest inside cabins on both ships are the insides on Main Deck. They are huge! No, there is no similar thread on the HAL board.
57redbird Posted December 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Avoid 8118 on the Eurodam....it's under a partly uncarpeted area of the Lido Market - chair/table scraping every evening between about 9:30-10:30.
