Casino VIP Cruise

You should have badges (on a lanyard) in your room upon check in that you and your guest will wear in the casino which will alert the servers that you should not be charged for drinks.  You should also have an itinerary of events during the week in your room (events include embarkation day cocktail party, free slot tourney, daily contests / games, etc.).  If you don't have either of these things, go down to the casino and talk to the host.  And if you had free play associated with your offer, the casino cashier will need to enable that for you.

Throughout the week you'll get gifts delivered to your cabin that seem to vary by cruise but typically include a bottle of champagne, chocolate strawberries, a gift to take home etc.  There's also cash and other prizes awarded for the various VIP-only games daily.

In terms of how much you need to gamble to get offers, it's anyone's guess.  I think of myself as a "VIP with training wheels" from my observations of the number of points earned and amount of free play others get.  I play penny slots at least a half hour every day, sometimes more.  My hubby plays the no limit hold em machine longer than I gamble but the offers come in my name (no surprise as the casino make the most on slot play).  I've never gotten a free cruise and the amount of play I get tends to be the lowest amount offered but I am happy to get any return from my time spent in the casino.

EDITED to add:  Instead of a free cruise, I do get a percentage off the price of the cruise which varies by cabin type.  This combines with the discounts that our TA provides so it's still a good deal.

When is there a VIP cruise scheduled?  I received an email for casino rate byt not a VIP cruise.

They are offered several times a year. You only will know about them if you get the offer in a flyer with the specific sailings listed. It comes by mail and sometimes by email as well. Yes, it's different than the casino rate.

Be prepared for a casino that is PACKED during all operating hours, higher table minimums, and machines with higher denominations and max bets. I have done two and the above observations take alot away from an otherwise enjoyable experience imho...
