debshomespun Posted January 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2019 Our first stop in New Zealand is Dunedin. We would like to just take the shuttle into town. Is there an ATM right at the Port? We won't have any NZ $$ yet. Or do they accept a credit card for payment on the shuttle? TIA

Is Dunedin walkable from port Chalmer? The center of Dunedin city is about 15km from the Port. I don't recall if there are sidewalks along the road from the Port into the city, but I don't think there are any. Port Chalmers reminded me of an industrial port. It would take a good 20-30 minutes till walk into town. On our first visit, we hired (rented) a car right there at the Port, and drove into town, then out to the Albatross Center. Very beautiful area. Edited January 13, 2019 by debshomespun
