Honolulu port area

We are going on a cruise out of Honolulu and were wondering if we board the ship and then get off what is in the area to do. We don't depart until 11PM so we thought we could check in and then walk around a bit.

Ala Moana Shopping Center is a 20 minutes walk from the port, for Waikiki you may need a cab or a bus.

We sailed out of Honolulu a few years ago on Solstice.  After check-in and dropping off our bags, we walked a couple of blocks back to Iolani Palace (spelling?).  It was a very interesting tour; if I remember correctly, about $15 entrance fee.  We had planned to walk further to Chinatown, but simply headed back to the ship once the tour was done.

You can catch a bus outside the terminal and go to the Ala Moana shopping centre or go to Waikiki. Or get an Ubber.

the bus is very cheap and if you have proof of senior you get a better rate.
