Can I bring a 1.5 L of wine instead of two, 750 ML?

I will be traveling out of New Orleans if that makes any difference. The type of wine I want to bring has it's smallest size offered at 1.5 L. My other half isn't going to be bringing any. How does Carnival generally handle this?

Thanks for this!  Sounds like a stickler could still possibly deny me. This helps my case though.

Pretty easy to open the top of the box of wine then reseal it with a hot glue gun.

It is probably just as easy to open up a cork-bottle of wine, fill it up with a different liquid of similar color, and re-cork it (new cork recommended unless you use a wine-thief opener) with a new plastic heat shrink capsule.

 

I am in no way condoning this, and it isn't like I just thought it up on my own...

So 

 

That is correct, at least for Tampa.  We took a 1.5 box instead of 2  750s with no problem last year.
