PixieMinnie Posted February 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2019 I have a question about NCL’s upgrade program. This is our first time sailing on NCL. There are 5 of us booked in a family ocean view stateroom. Would we be able to bid on a Haven suite? That would be the only other category that would accommodate all of us in one room. What would the lowest acceptable bid be?

What would the lowest acceptable bid be? To my knowledge no, since on NCL, you can only bid for 2 categories of staterooms succeding your category. So at most, you might be able to bid for the Mini-Suite, or Spa Balcony, but not a Haven. You would have a greater chance at getting a Haven if you booked a balcony, and obviously getting a bid. Rare Nclgetawaymenhoney Posted February 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2019 Nope, only two categories up which is balconies or mini so no
don't-use-real-name Posted February 2, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2019 If you are thinking about bidding on say a mini-suite and then after winning that bid bidding on a Haven or full suite Scratch that idea - you only get one bid award opportunity per cruise - so take your best shot at it. If you are still back aways from the final payment period think about buying into the next level up to allow you the bidding for that suite or haven. A ship full and sold out is not your best bet - but then round and round she goes and where she stops ??? Regarding 5 in one cabin the larger haven cabins is the way to go for creature comfort and amenities. Review the situation of just simply booking the haven and breaking down the fare divided by 5 with any promos perks special offers - you just might have a winner outside of the bidding process ! Good Luck
