Carnival Magic Review

Just off Carnival Magic and I have a few things to add to other comments I read before my Cruise.  Firstly, I was expecting long lineups for things as this was talked about a lot, but no this was not a problem.  We ate every night in the dining room and the food was excellent and the service was wonderful.  We didn’t care for the food on the Lido deck restaurants and only ate breakfast there when we had early port excursions.  We did try the Guys Burgers as everyone talks about how great it is and I found it didn’t live up to the hype.

While on the topic of food, I was shocked by how much food was wasted by my fellow passengers.  A lot of people filled platters full of food from the buffets and ate very little of it.  I was embarrassed when wait staff cleaned up after them throwing all that good food away when I know that many of them come from countries where poverty is the norm.

Our cabin was clean and spacious and I enjoyed the extra bathroom with the bathtub. Every thing in the room was in good working order including the air conditioning.

The shows were okay, some better than others.  Very typical Cruise ship entertainment. Flick was our least favourite. We did enjoy the piano bar.  Good songs for singing along with.

The only negative to me was that the ship is a little tired and due for a refurbishment.  Upholstery on furniture is a bit worn and there are places here and there where rust is very visible and some lifting of wallpaper in the passageway.

Overall, I enjoyed my cruise.  If you have any specific questions, I am happy to try and answer them.

Thanks for the review.  The Magic next year will be our first Carnival in many years, so I like to get as much info as possible.

Enjoyed reading your review.  Magic is my favorite Carnival ship. Looking forward to a Christmas cruise on her at the end of this year.

Yes we did the ship a couple of weeks ago.  I think it was called something else though on the fun times.

We will be on her also for Christmas - our second time on Magic (she was our first Carnival ship cruise) and first time to Aruba & Curacao.  

 

Never done a Christmas cruise before.  Looking forward to it!

The last time we were on Magic, Ravi was our go to bartender at the Alchemy Bar. However, that was in July 2018 so I don’t know who is currently working at the Alchemy Bar on Magic.
