Amazon River cruise with Vantage in May 2019

I was not able to find many review of such cruise, so if someone done it before, please share.

Here is few specific questions: what to pack?- (we'll be also in Machu-Pichu)

Are yellow fever vaccination really necessary? Are taking medicine against Malaria is also a must?

How is the life and amenities on the ship (mv Zafiro)?

Hi - We are doing the Amazon with Avalon in March, so can answer some of your questions here. 

We went to a travel clinic.  While we are only in the Amazon for 4 days/3 nights, the MD felt we should take anti-malarials (as well as ensuring we have good bug repellent --> preferable DEET based).  We are also getting yellow fever vaccinations.   As an FYI, there is a world shortage of yellow fever vaccine, so we are getting a partial dose, which should be good for a year.  The travel doc didn't, at first, think that yellow fever was necessary, but he discovered there is recent  "increased activity" of yellow fever in Peru so felt we should take the injection.  If you are visiting any other country (ie: Ecuador, Brazil) while you are there, they may insist on proof of vaccination before you can enter the country.

We are also doing altitude meds --> I have heard a number of stories of people getting quite ill when they go to Cusco --> especially if they are flying there before going to Machu Picchu. 

I can't speak to the boat --> we are on the Delfin III.
