Shop for water in Port of Miami

Is there a small shop in the Port of Miami where I can buy bottles of water

and soda before boarding?

There are no stores at the Port Of Miami. If you are cabbing it from MIA have the taxi driver stop somewhere enroute to pick up what you need. Try to be fast because the meter will be running.

As Corby114 said, there are no stores in the Port of Miami or on Dodge Island.  Closest store for buying water would probably be CVS on Biscayne Blvd.

If I get on the ship early, can I drop off my carry-on to my room and take the free trolley to pick up water or whatever?

I believe you can go to your cabin at 1pm. So, you could probably take an Uber or Lyft.

If you are taking a Royal Caribbean cruise, try to catch the trolley may not be a good idea. From what I read, the trolley stop near the terminal F which is "few" minutes of walk from terminal A. Uber Pool is about $7.50 ( $9.xx for Uber X) from terminal C to the nearest CVS.

Easier is to ask your cab or Uber driver to stop on the way to the port - they sell water everywhere.
