Juneau Blueberry Buckle

I know what Blueberry Buckle is, but am surprised that it is a "must have" anywhere in our state, let alone Juneau.  I've been to Juneau both in winter and summer, and don't recall seeing it on any menu, but then again, wasn't looking for it either.  Our native blueberries are very small  and extremely tart -- very different from the version in New England.  When you find blueberry pancakes or something such as that on a menu the item is frequently made with non-Alaskan blueberries.

Interesting replies and I appreciate all.  Juneau is such an interesting city to visit, I probably won't spend much time looking for Blueberry Buckle.  But, if I find one, I will try it.

Same here. I won't go looking for it but if it finds me I may give it a try. It seems very similar to the blueberry coffee cake I make at home. I could be wrong.
