That's why we've learned to just hang out at the Lido Pool or in the Crow's Nest until later in the morning while the turbulence below decks gets dealt with. For people with tight schedules, this is a real bad way to end the trip. Sorry you had to be a part of it! But as one of the terminal's staff mentioned, this isn't on the Cruise Terminal. I suspect that on these turn-around days, minimal staff is available to disembark. The rest are all busy on "other tasks as assigned" to get the boat "ship-shape" for the next cruisers who start boarding at 11:30AM. (I think that's why we get away with hanging out until practically everyone's disembarked - they're just too busy to notice us). But it makes for an extremely tough experience for those who do have to get to their next destination on a schedule. Ditto ! Though I agree with prior posts that HAL could have done better job, this has happened every time from a long cruise to the South Pacific. In 2008 disembarkation did not start until 10:30 AM ! The problem is , unlike other cruises, this was a long cruise with the majority of passengers non US citizens that have to go through Customs on the ship. It always takes much longer than scheduled. I have always warned fellow passengers never book flights before noon!
DAllenTCY Posted April 9, 2019 #452 Share Posted April 9, 2019 No consolation; however, today's Celebrity Eclipse disembarkation was way worse at the pier. The "Me first" attitude was again apparent. David
MomDawn Posted April 14, 2019 #453 Share Posted April 14, 2019 Thank you for your postings! This trip is on my bucket list, and I just read through it on a 40F, rainy day in Michigan. I very much enjoyed sharing your travels (and the comments of others) for the past 2 hours. Dawn
Rare ski ww Posted April 14, 2019 #454 Share Posted April 14, 2019 The cruise was excellent, serve was great as normal. I also have complaints about the disembarkation, the biggest problem is that passengers do not listen or follow instructions. We had an early flight 11:30 it was the only one out that day, normally we never book that early.
