Beach on Caye Caulker

Can anyone tell me how the beaches are on Caye Caulker?   Wondering if it is worth the ride over.  Looking for a lovely beach/beach bar to spend a few hours at.  However, the the beach is not so great, may just opt out for Barrister Island.

IMO, if you just take the water taxi and pay close attention to the return times versus your ship's last tender.  CC is the way to go.

What are the facilities like on CC - restrooms, bars, chairs and shade? It'll be our first trip, trying to compare the various beach excursion options. Thanks.

There are a bunch of bars and restaurants on the island.  If you take the water taxi you can rent a golf cart to kick around on.  Some of the private excursions include a golf cart as an option.  If you want to see how it’s laid out use Google maps.

The facilities on CC are indeed limited.  There isn't really any "beach resort" unless you include the  Lazy Lizard bar.  Most people heading to CC are either renting bungalows or staying in local inns for longer periods of time than what cruisers can spend there, so no need for a beach resort when you can walk back to your bungalow in 5 minutes.

Unfortunately Northern Belize is lacking in mainland beaches and for a day trip option the cayes would be a better spot.
