5:00 p.m. arrival in San Juan

Given the later arrival time in port, wondering for those who have done that, what did you do with your time.  From some research I'm seeing it's wandering the town shopping, eating and drinking, or there's a few bioluminescent bay excursions.

Does the late arrival give you time to visit either of the Forts?

I know there is a trolley around town, does that run at night?

Restaurant/Bar recommendations?

The forts close at 6pm daily.  I’d find a nice restaurant near your hotel/Airbnb & relax.

If you prepare your self and try to be first in line to disembark, you can get 30 minutes out of San Critobal. Then yes wlak around and enjoy the old city!

We have the same issue. Arrive at 5pm and leave at 1230am from msc seaside next January. I've seen the forts, rode bikes, el yungue... I sent out emails to the bio bay companies with no response. Bacardi plant will be closed. Other than bars and restaurants, there really isn't much to do activity wise exploring the city. I looked at some night food tours and they start at 5.

Rosa Triana restaurant on Recinto St has a great flamenco show every night but Monday starting at 7:30 or 8:30 depending on night. Lots of fun for the family. No admission. Minimum order of food or drink of $20 per person.

 

There is live sing along at some of the plazas on weekend nights. Some people bring their hand held scratch/percussion instruments and play along.

 

Friday night is dancing night at Santurce, a cab ride away from the ports not too far from Condado. Dancing under the stars. Live music.

 

There are casinos at some hotels but I think you have to cab to them.
