Windows 7 says goodbye...

I have no idea how many of you are still running Windows 7. Not many, I would assume. If you are, be forewarned. On January 14, 2020 Microsoft will sunset the Windows 7 operating system. Machines still running it will still work but updates and security patches will no longer be produced and support for the platform will be terminated.

If you haven't made the move to modernize yet, the clock is ticking.

FYI, all those people telling you how horrible Windows 10 is are blowing smoke. I have used it since early beta testing and it is by far the best they have ever released. You can even make it look like Windows 7 is you really, really hate change.

Didn't participate in beta testing. but have used Win 10 without issue since the first release on my newer laptop. Having used all versions except Win 8, I agree it's one of their best.

However, I also did the upgrade on my older desktop (met minimum requirements), but it wasn't so stable and had numerous driver issues.

That's a good point. A machine that was built back when Win 7 was in vogue would be towards the bottom to the "minimum requirements" list. I 've successfully upgraded a few Win 7 machines but they had major brand components with good driver support.

Operating system upgrades have always been a trigger for me to build a new machine rather than play Driver Roulette. 🙂
