Barcelona - Is there a fixed rate for taxi from airport?

Is there a fixed rate for taxis from the airport in Barcelona to hotels downtown (nothing out of the way)?

Thanks.

We are trying to avoid paying some weird rate by a driver who judges we don't know what we are doing, as foreigners with jet lag :classic_ohmy:

No fixed rate but your fare should not exceed 35 if your hotel is located in the city center. Remember, there are supplements for luggage, airport & cruise port. Make sure that your driver uses the meter. Info here:

Last year, our fare from El Prat to Las Ramblas was 30 (including our luggage)

Does Uber operate in Barcelona?

No - unless the situation has recently changed.

It appears that UberX is now operational in BCN.

Do the taxi's in Barcelona have credit card machines?

Some do and some don't (you can ask driver before accepting ride). Or - recommend having enough euros to cover the taxi fare.

If your taxi does accept credit cards, AMEX is not usually accepted (Visa and MasterCard are accepted).

Official Barcelona taxis are black and yellow - they are metered.
