Restricted smoking in the casino?

It's sort of like having a "NO PEEING" side of the pool. I hate, hate, hate smoking. If Celebrity can be profitable being non smoking in the casino and almost all pubic areas, why can't RCI? Forty-one cruises and we have never spent a nickel in their casinos. We can't even walk through them due to the smoke.

Since you mentioned it, the average Pool has 80 Gallons of Urine in it. Glad they at Royal empty's their Pools every day. Though I haven't been in public Hot Tub since early 80's...

Cruises that leave and return to Australian ports sail under Aussie laws and I’m pretty sure there is no smoking inside the RCI ships here, if this helps 😉

This applies to all cruise lines here I think.

Glad I don't smoke, use the pools or hot tubs.

The Jewel of the Seas Casino is incredibly smokey.   The casino is so small that smoke fills the air everywhere.  It was hard to tell which side was the smoking side.   The worst part is people just came to the casino to smoke and not even gamble.  Hopefully Royal will fix this problem.

I just spent 16 days on Jewel and spend a lot of time in the casino.  I primarily play Ultimate Texas Holdem and was thrilled, as were my usual tablemates, that we never had a smoker sit with us.  Unfortunately, on the few times I played slots, smokers were everywhere.  I actually had a woman sit down next to me and she was blowing smoke right at me.  I politely asked her if she would blow her smoke the other way and she said “go play in the non-smoking section” and continued to blow smoke at me.

Im sure there are polite casino smokers but I rarely encounter them.   Not sure why RCI still allows smoking since it’s not allowed on Celebrity or Azimera, their 2 other cruise lines.

Do you have the source of this information?

Actually it's the ventilation in that Class, same on Serenade and Brilliance

That's what I don't get, I would think if they made the casino at one end of the ship, and not in the middle, and designed proper ventilation in consideration of location and what else was near there, they could have a casino that wouldn't feel like a smoke lodge.  It shouldn't have open doors to go in/out of it either, or open stairways up to the promenade.  If it had sliding doors to/from and enhanced ventilation it may go a long way towards helping.  Though I still like the idea of a separate smoking lounge!

On every casino on a Royal that I have been to in the last several years one side has always been non smoking.

However, the rule is not enforced.

Has worked well for  Celebrity.

On Anthem there are some slots I like to play, but where they are located is back in a corner where everyone goes to smoke, especially those that aren't playing.  I could hardly ever play those slots, unless I went down after midnight when it wasn't crowded.
