It is all spelled out on both the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean c & a websites. Look under Captains Club on Celebrity and under crown and anchor society on Royal Caribbean.

You must earn points independently, the points do not add together across the two lines

Yes, each passenger should have his or her own Captain’s Club number.

even children, although they won’t reap any benefits, eventually they will get all the points they have accrued.

Just so I understand this, a 3rd and possibly a 4th person in the same cabin accumulates the same number of CC loyalty points as the first 2 in the cabin, even if there was no or a minimal charge for their stay? Interesting ...

The points accrue to the passenger who sails and are for the number of days someone sails in a particular stateroom category.

An exception is that someone who occupies a stateroom as a single can now receive double points for each day of the cruise, the rationale being that s/he is paying double, (even if the person receives the cruise as a gift from a family member or friend and pays nothing at all for it).

It makes no difference how much the cruise costs, or which person actually pays for the cruise.

So if, for example, parents book and pay for a stateroom for themselves and two more staterooms for their children or other family members (as often happens), they will only receive the points for the stateroom that they themselves occupy.
