private tour/operator suggestions for Huatulco

Hi all,

 

We will be doing Celebrity Eclipse from Santiago, Chile to San Diego, CA a year from now. Our roll call has already been busy organizing private tours and I thought I might look into organizing one for our Huatulco stop.

 

We will be there on a Wednesday from10-5. Anyone have any suggestions of places of interest to visit and reputable tour operators that we might contact? I've looked on Viator and Tripadvisor, but am having trouble finding the operators directly.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Viator doesn't run any tours themselves in any ports. They are just middlemen to arrange local tours.

When we were in Huatulco we were more interesting in beach/snorkeling time than real sightseeing.

There are also ruins nearby that a local taxi can also take you to visit.

We just bargained with a local taxi driver to take us to a particularly nice beach with restaurants on the beach that were reasonably priced with shade etc. You don't have to snorkel but if you want to there is equipment to rent and guides to take you to swim to interesting snorkel areas at Playa Entrega. The taxi charged 60 pesos and he waited for us to take us back to the ship.

One beer was only $2 +tip. It was a gorgeous beach !!

From the port area we also took a taxi into the nearby town of Crucecita. The port itself had vendors if you don't want to go far.

Huatulco is a bit different.  It is paradise. Just grab a taxi and they will take you anywhere. Huatulco has some of the cheapest taxis in Mexico. About 250 pesos an hour for a taxi.  30 pesos by taxi gets you anywhere in town and 75 pesos by taxi will get you to about 20 beaches.
