St. Petersburg shore excursions

Does anyone know the maximum group size for the 2-day St. Petersburg Exploration shore excursion offered by Azamara?

25 is the advertised maximum though sometimes they go up above that.

Done St. Petersburg three times, all on Azamara.  Used Azamara shorex one trip,  independent tours the other two.  Strongly recommend the latter from a value POV.

We did the Baltic on Journey in August 2017.  Highly recommend SPB Tours.  We were on a large van with no more than 14-16 people.  I wouldn't want to tour all the sites with a group larger than that, especially in the summer when it is very crowded.  Whenever we were following a larger group through a site they were always slowing us down.  Our tour guide and driver were invaluable in navigating the logistics and moving us through a packed itinerary.  It was tiring but we certainly saw a lot.  It was definitely worth the $.

We have used Dancing Bears twice fir 3 days whike in St Petersburg with Azamara and the driver and guide were FANTASTIC.

Highly agree with flyingshoes. The ship excursions truly are a pack you in and push you through type experience. The independent tour operators have more flexibility and don't try to push you through. We used Anastasia's Travel . Loved the fact that we could schedule a private tour, allowing us to go at our pace and see what we wanted to see.

We did a two day tour independently with SBP-Tours.com.  Excellent time with them and great communication.  It is a beautiful city and lots to see.

We did a 2 day independent tour with Alla with 16 pax max. They were great.

Another vote for private tours in SPB. We used Red October a few years ago. A group of 6, with an excellent guide (Katya) and a driver.  It was not inexpensive, but well worth it.

We used Alla tours, 16 people maximum groups. Highly recommended. Basically half price, very similar itinerary.
