I have TWO cruises booked!

I currently have two booked: the Sunrise in November and the Panorama in January.

Still debating either adding the Horizon (which would make a side to side cruise - MIA to FLL on same day - and would also, when combined with the Sunrise cruise, make me Platinum for the Panorama cruise) or a B2B to the Sunrise cruise in November (would leave me just ONE day short of Platinum for the Panorama cruise). Choices...

I have 3. I win.  🤣🤣🤣

It's a tie - I also have 3 booked for this year - a 4 day in July, a 7 day to Bermuda in September and another 4 day in November.  Those darn casino deals keep coming in (lol).  Actually I'm retiring at the end of June -finally- so I am celebrating!!!

I know everyone says, you only get good casino deals because you spend so much money in the casino.  While that's true, I would be spending money whether I paid full price or not, so these deals just allow me to (normally) cruise twice a year instead of one time at full price.

Don't want to say how many we have currently booked, but let me say that once you are retired a whole new world opens up! 😁

I'm already learning that - now, if I can just figure out how to pay for everything I want to do.

Patti and I both got part time jobs for the sole purpose of supporting our cruising habit. We can take off whenever we want to and there is no pressure so we still consider ourselves fully retired. 😃

This is an absolute first for me and I couldn't be more excited!  I feel like I've "arrived", LOL.  I first fell in love with cruising in 2009 and knew I would love to cruise every year.  Which didn't happen. I've cruised in 2009, 2013, 2016 and 2018 (which isn't bad).  I now have a cruise scheduled for this June (Alaska with my mom) and just booked another one for April 2020 (birthday cruise for my DH).  My DH said I could also go on a cruise with my BFF if I wanted to.  I'm like, two cruises in one year?  YAY!  I haven't booked that one yet because we have a lot of trips planned already for this year, but maybe I'll do that next year.

I know that many of you cruise multiple times a year or every year, but this is huge for me and I'm so excited!

I know how you feel.  As I'm older and only one kiddo left at home, I have more free cash so tying it up in deposits is not as hard.  If I book early, I get my choice of cabins and can always cancel if something comes up.  It also gives one something to look forward to.  Congrats!  You've arrived.

We also book early to get the best rates and cabin locations, We also try to book when there is a reduced deposit promotion so we don't have a lot of money tied up in deposits. :classic_cool:

Funny you should say that - I've worked with the Sheriff's Office for almost 25 years & for over 10 of those years I have been supervising Crossing Guards.  The vast # of them are working for the same reason you are - $$ for vacations!

yes cruising is a joy to behold.

I have 3 booked for 2019 one also being Alaska in May.

For 2020 I have 6 (4 to year since visas are coming in 2021). Each on different cruise lines and every 4 weeks from early June to mid Sept.

I have 2 cruises booked for 2021 - not Europe.

Only thing I find is that one has to be low key about travel plans because friends and family can become jealous and make odd comments like "IT MUST BE NICE" or "AGAIN".

Still those who can afford to cruise should continue and try all the various lines.  All of mine 6 cruises next year are 6 different lines.

The last one is new Panorama from LA where I got a good price on Cabana Aft balcony for me as a solo traveler.

Prices were better than Vista or Horizon in Caribbean or at least they were when I booked.

Welcome to cruise addiction.  There might be a 12 step program for that. 🤣

Step 1:  Book another cruise.  Step 2:  Book another cruise …...

Congrats to OP!!  We have 3 booked now for the first time ever.  Like Jamman, we watch for reduced deposits so we don't have a lot tied up in the far away cruises other than insurance.

I also have 2 booked for the first time!

I'm used to finishing one and booking the next, but when I saw Mardi Gras cruises come available, I jumped on booking a transatlantic--my bucket list cruise!

So, now I have a 7 day out of New Orleans (where I live) in November 2019 on the C. Glory and the Mardi Gras for 2020!

Mardi Gras - 14 Day - Transatlantic Southampton to New York - September 9, 2020

Hoping to squeeze one in between.

See ya on the Mardi Gras! I've booked the same cruise!

My first cruise was April 2017. Fast-forward to today, I'll be taking my 6th later this month. I used to always take one summer vacation per year. Then I realized I could almost do 2 in the off-peak season for the price of 1 summer vacation. In my case of first-world problems, I'm going to Hawaii later this year for 10 days, so it makes booking another cruise harder. So as of now, nothing else is scheduled, and it's tough!!

Really itching to do a Horizon southern cruise, Mardi Gras, and RC Oasis class.

Joebucks you should do an Oasis class ship.  There is none other like it and while very large, they are also laid out very nicely and one never feels crowded.  Only thing is they mostly go out of Fl except perhaps a summer in Europe which is what the Allure is doing next year.

You would also like Horizon which is sister to Vista.  Loved the ship and loved the Southern itinerary.

So happy looking and booking to you

I am not retired, but like you don’t want to say how many cruises I have booked at the risk of being called crazy or rich (I am neither).  Living in Florida makes cruising easy and relatively cheap, and we definitely take advantage of that.

It is poor planning if you schedule a cruise that leaves you one day short of the next VIFP level. 😊

I hate comments like that!  I have had people make the same to me.  I stopped telling people about my vacations now.  I may take anywhere between 4 to 6 vacations a year (some are just long weekend trips), but I plan and budget for each one.

 yes I am learning.

Also I will select and plan a trip and then if I ask a friend they want to change to their TA and perhaps select another week or room etc etc.

Traveling solo has its good points.  I find now if I go away I tell folks I am visiting friends.  I will tell them the truth if going overseas though.  Jealousy can really hurt and sometimes folks need to understand we budget which means we don't eat out a lot, get hair done, etc etc.

Funny I am one of the few cruisers who doesn't drink or gamble but I do cruise.  toodles

I went on my first solo cruise last month (and I enjoyed traveling solo). I was amazed at how many friends were like "that must be boring/lonely/depressing/etc... I would never do that!". Funny none of them have ever been on a cruise, though.
