Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #101 Share Posted April 15, 2019 After breakfast we traditionally went to the buffet to grab a box of cereal and a couple of milks to put in the refrigerator for the baby. I took baby to the Guppy’s nursery where they have free time that parents can sit with their child while they play with the toys. We were the only ones there and he had a wonderful time. When we got back to the room everyone was up and of course they were hungry so off the the buffet. In the buffet of course I had my favorite Bahama Momma. Everyone else had a mixture of an early lunch selection. Husband gave baby spaghetti and Mac & cheese (in his white shorts. Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #102 Share Posted April 15, 2019 Going back to the room baby had a meltdown when we passed the nursery he wanted to go play! But it was nap time! On to the room where I and the boys played a few rounds of uno while husband went to the thermal spa. He loves the hot tubs and sauna. He sat in the heated lounger for awhile then showered there and joined us for a game or 4. We asked Gede to leave the bottom sofa bed out to allow us space to sit as a family. But he would of happy made it up everyday if we wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #103 Share Posted April 15, 2019 After our Uno marathon my oldest had to get some homework completed and husband took baby for a walk. So middle son and I went back to the buffet (man we went there a lot today) to get a light lunch. This is the only thing I ate at the buffet. Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #104 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We walked to look at the ship photographs that had been taken over the week. Usually, we have pictures in the dinning rooms every night along with every port. But we truly only had 2 photos. One from GSC and the other of the boys at sail away. Crazy!! We had noticed photography stations before dinner most nights in the atrium. So we tried to get baby to stand for a photo alone and he wasn’t having it. Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #105 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We planned on the boys going for a late dinner at La Cucina so hubby and I along with baby went to Savor at 5 for dinner. Garfield had the chef make me a yummy dessert of warm cinnamon apples with lemon sorbet. It was so thoughtful and so good! Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #106 Share Posted April 15, 2019 After dinner we headed back to the room only for baby to have another meltdown wanting to go play in the nursery. After going to the room and finding a maintenance worker fixing the slow draining tub my husband convinced me to give daycare another try. We left baby and got a drink in the casino. I set my phone alarm to make sure We would have plenty of time to pick him up. I kept waiting on the pager to go off and heard nothing so we played slots for awhile and then my alarm went off that we needed to head to pick him up. He had a GREAT time and never cried. Plus, this time momma had no tears. For these sessions the cost is $20 per session (about 2 hours). We might try this again tomorrow. After we picked up baby it was off to bed for him. Lisalk12 Posted April 15, 2019 Author #107 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We waited up for the big boys to come back from the specialty restaurant. They had mixed reviews. My middle son loved his spaghetti and my oldest said the dumplings were okay but not what he expected. (They knew their momma would want pictures and sent these to me. Lol)They went on to have ice cream at the buffet and roam the ship for awhile before coming back to the room. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #112 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Saturday- Sea day. Woke up to another beautiful but rough, windy and cold day aboard the NCL Escape. Breakfast at O’Sheehan’s. It kind of amazes me that I can order the same thing and always something is a little different about it. But never got sick so... anyway this is what the country platter should look like minus mushrooms (the only thing my husband will not eat). And off we went to the buffet for cartons of milk and boxes of cereal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #113 Share Posted April 17, 2019 The Garden Buffet has hand washing stations that allow you to wash with soap and running water. Sometimes the attendant mandated the washing other times a little spray of washy washy and you were deemed okay to go. Not sure what made the difference. I did notice that salt and pepper shakers as well as mustard and ketchup were on the tables all week. Which for me is a sign that we didn’t have an outbreak of any kind this week. Good job washy washying this week friends!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #114 Share Posted April 17, 2019 On the way back to the room we noticed that the disembarkation luggage tags were out next to guest services. Our flight out was scheduled for 11:20. We worried about having enough time to get through customs and to the airport checkin. So we chose to do self walk off and keep our bags with us. This works well if you can maneuver down stairs and escalators with your luggage. Plus this is the first group called and we will hopefully not have to stand in long lines. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #115 Share Posted April 17, 2019 After getting our teen up we went to the 5 o’clock somewhere bar to listen to some Family Karaoke. Always a fun time and so much talent aboard this boat. I was hoping baby might fall asleep but he was so entertained he managed to fight it. So we went to the room and dropped off everyone for a nap while I took our middle son to eat at the garden cafe and get myself a drink. On Saturday nights they have an oriental night with a suckling pig. And O’Sheehan’s has prime rib from 5:30-9:30. The boys were going to one or the other for dinner when my husband and I had a date night at the Italian speciality restaurant. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #116 Share Posted April 17, 2019 During babies nap chocolates from the casino were delivered. This should of been my first clue that hubby was spending to much $$ there. When baby woke . Baby went to Guppy’s and had a great time while we went shopping. Found some great TShirts from our ports for 2 for $20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #117 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Then we went to play bingo. The bingo line was really long and it meant that the beginning of the game would be delayed. On cruises we typically play every bingo and deal or no deal. But this cruise was so different! So we got the BIG package that had raffle tickets, lotto tickets and tons of bingo cards. We were close to winning a couple of times and had a great time. Because of the late start I had to leave before the end of bingo and pickup baby. He had another great time. While waiting on bingo to finish up baby and I noticed that do to high winds even the waterfront was closed off. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #118 Share Posted April 17, 2019 The boys went to have an early dinner at the Garden Cafe while my husband and I had a late lunch (specialty dinner wasn’t until 9:15). We went to O’Sheehans and enjoyed the prime rib special. Afterward we went back to the room to pack up. Gede was in turning down the room so we spent time in the hallway playing with the large kiosk. For some reason baby thought these were the coolest thing ever and would die laughing every time we touched it. Guppy’s was getting ready to start for the evening and we thought packing might be a little easier without little one so we headed down and he ran right in to play with his friends. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #119 Share Posted April 17, 2019 After packing we had a little bit before daycare time was up so we ran up to the brewhouse. I love the vibe here and would of spent a lot more time here if it was just us big folk on the cruise. The other mixed drinks as well of bottled and on tap selections of beer. My favorite mixed drink. This is when we figured out we were having issues with our sail card. Now, for some reason on about 3 of our last cruises our cards have stopped working. Once it was due to someone stealing our credit information and our bank stopping all use. But this time it was an old expired card that we had originally booked with so we just changed out the card and we were free to buy beers again!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #120 Share Posted April 17, 2019 We stopped by the Cruise Next to see if we might be interested in certificates. We already have two but can only use them on Balcony or higher. So we decided not to buy anymore at this time. Lisalk12 Posted April 17, 2019 Author #121 Share Posted April 17, 2019 After picking up baby we went to the room and got him dressed for bed. Big boys babysat while husband and I went on to the speciality restaurant. When checking in we got the first hint that maybe my order hadn’t been placed correctly. We were seated and I was asked what my order had been and asked who took it. It was double checked by another person. My husband gave his order and asked for bread (by this time we were starving!). The food came out quickly and was supper yummy! Best pasta I had had in a long time. I believe we closed down the restaurant but they were very nice and tried to make us feel unrushed. We stopped at the casino to lose a little bit more $$ and I left my husband there while I went back to make sure baby was in bed. While my husband was out that evening a casino host gave him a certificate and a number to call to use his amount played credited towards another cruise. Lisalk12 Posted April 19, 2019 Author #122 Share Posted April 19, 2019 Sunday - disembarkation Woke at 4:00 to the realization we had already arrived at the port. Managed to go back to sleep until my 6:00 alarm. Woke everyone and took our time getting ready and finished packing. At 7:00 they began early calls for anyone that was doing self walk off. We were thinking about heading that way but our Uber driver had been texting hubby yesterday and already this morning to let us know he would be waiting where we were dropped off at 8. We left the room at 7:30 managed to get an elevator to the 7th floor and wrapped through the O’Sheehan’s bar/arcade and showed our sail away card one last time. Heading into customs I and baby in his stroller got to go down an elevator while everyone else pulled their luggage on the escalator. Walked straight to the customs agent and was done and in the Uber by 8:05. We had plenty of time at the airport and sat down for a nice breakfast before the long plane ride to Dallas and the marathon drive to Ok. Traffic and construction was crazy! Lisalk12 Posted April 19, 2019 Author #123 Share Posted April 19, 2019 Just a couple of additional things that I learned along the way. You can use the NCL Texting App to call the stateroom directly. Just dial the room number. It was useful when boys phones were dead. Husbands favorite beer at the Brewhouse Rough seas can be tough on some people. Bring an old hotel room key to keep in the light switch. Kept us from turning out the lights to see whose sail card was in the switch. USB Charger outlet by bed!!
