Just off Eurodam Mexican Riviera 7 nights Any Questions

Embarkation: Easy easy.  As a Neptune Suite guest, we had priority check in and embarkation in group A.  Staterooms were available as soon as we boarded.

Stateroom 6175: is an aft corner suite.  Large double vanity sink toilet, tub with shower and shower stall.  Dressing room, ample storage.

Food: Amazing.  Sadly, no escargot unless you did Rudy’s at the Pinnacle night.  Did not overstuff you.  Portions were excellent.  On the Lido they portioned out.  I loved that.  Pinnacle breakfast is the same as the main dining room but for Neptune and higher guests.  Pinnacle lunch was genuinely nice.  Tamarind is worth every cent to pay for dinner for a five-course menu.

Bars: Were not overpriced.  All bars were incredibly quiet.

Entertainment: No production shows but since we were going to the Mexican Riviera, we had Mexican Ambassadors that taught us culture and history of Mexico with a Mexican folk-dance performance.

Overall crew: The crew was fantastic.  Everyone including maintenance greeted you.  If you walked down a corridor and the stateroom attendant saw you they greeted you by name.  If it was not your attendant, they still said hello to you.

Final Thought:  We were so impressed we are looking at a 16 night Panama Canal Fort Lauderdale to San Diego January 2020 on the Rotterdam.

We are booked in a Neptune Suite on the Eurodam in October and I wondered if "Club Orange" was in effect on the Eurodam?

From your notes, it sounds like the Neptune Suites are still having breakfast in Pinnacle and not in a "Club Orange" section in the MDR.  Is that correct?

We really like the breakfast in the Pinnacle and is one of main reasons we book a Neptune Suite... the extra space is nice too.

Never saw anything about club orange on board.

So, on your 7 night cruise, what entertainment did they offer each night in the main theater if you can remember? On a sea day, if you had one, do you remember if HAL offered anything fun to do during the day other than maybe trivia?

Sea days lots of cultural talks by the Mexican Ambassadors.  Of course the obligatory bingo and trivia.  The Gallery Bar has a selection of games some of which are missing their pieces.  The Crows Nest has lots of books and jigsaw puzzles but they are all missing pieces or two.

We had the Mexican Ambassadors do a folk dance presentation which was only a 15 minute show, the on board "orchestra" played music one night with BBC wildlife videos playing in the background, they had a comedian, a dance troupe, a variety show, and a Billy Joel/Elton John tribute performer.  We only attended the first two items.

Glad to see they are offering lectures on sea days on 7 day cruises. For a long time you had to be on a 15+ day cruise to have professional lecturers come and give talks. Also glad to hear they had the Billy Joel/Elton John tribute as we could listen to their songs all night long!

Question please; was the "dance troupe" the "One Step Dance Company" with two production-like shows, or were they a group of local traditional Mexican dance performers? Thanks!

Yes it was One Step Dance but sadly the eyelids got too heavy and we missed the show.

I will also add that unlike Royal, when we did the spa tour and said not interested in a certain treatment, they just said, "Okay thanks for stopping in."  On Royal they would have obnoxiously hard sold us on the treatment.  Best spa at sea however we would not do the Thermal Suite week package again.  We didn't use it everyday.

We also just returned from this cruise.  I like to stay busy so I filled my sea days with Americas test kitchen 2X daily, EXC talks and demonstrations of Mexican culture on the trip to Mexico and back, thermal spa, attended a class on Microsoft ink, a talk on colored diamonds and a movie or two in the BB King showroom. Lots of great movies available in the room too. We were very entertained. The Comedian and the Humanity One Step dance show last night was amazing. A mix of dance and coding produced a very entertaining show. WTG Holland!

My only complaint was the SPA. Water to maintain hydration was not available throughout the thermal spa and the layout was terrible. Did not like having to walk through the halls mixing with other cruise passengers in my robe.

Also on this cruise!  - a note - you can change in the Spa dressing room and they will give you a free locker with key of course.

We had great weather except for one sea day.  The food was very good IMO, as was the crew (as normal for HAL).  Embarkation was delayed about 15 minutes to 11:45 AM, so no big deal.  Debarkation was a breeze - no forms to fill out for Customs.  Further, it started about 10 minutes earlier than planned,  We were scheduled to debark at 8:30 and we were at the airport before 9 am!

HAL seems to be getting smarter with things - like since all the Neptune suites get Priority Disembarkation, why have the guests fill out the standard form that everyone gets?  Just give them all Priority tags and be done with it.  Also liked the fact that the ship had two machines to print off your bill anytime you wanted to.

I loved how smokeless the ship was.  Even the casino was smoke free.

Except for the Starboard side aft section on deck 9 (Lido) area.  Lots of smoking going on there (it is the smoking section after all) - just had to learn to use the port side to get to the pool.

ScottC4746 - sorry we missed seeing you onboard.  We had a great meet and greet on Sunday morning with about 20 people attending.

Turns out DH isn't much into meet and mingles.  Hard enough to get him to the LGBT meet up the first night but met a great bunch there so went to all the meetups throughout the cruise.  This was by far one of the most relaxing cruises we have been on and has changed our loyalty from RCCL to HAL.
