SY7DNEY CRUISER Posted April 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2019 Crystal sympathy cruise from Sydney to Cairns departing Sydney on 8 April Friday the 13th mised 7 am call at Harvey Island to drop off passengers for an excursion to the reef due high winds Sunday 15 arrival in Cairns delayed my four hours to noon once again due to high winds. The captain was concerned that the ship would drift out of the narrow passage. He entered the channel on the fifth attempt Monday the call at Port Douglas was cancelled again due to high winds. The ship spent an extra day in Cairns The Crystal Symphony is a classic cruise ship with excellent service and food. Richard West

Rare Stickman1990 Posted April 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2019 Then they missed Cooktown and sailed onto Darwin - but had a medical emergency which necessitates a return to Cairns Haven’t had an update since then on whether a rescue helicopter managed to reach them or whether they have to go all the way back to Cairns Boy this Voyage is full of twists and turns -and missed tender ports - still you can’t help the weather and safety comes first
