Saturday May 11, so sorry to be MIA yesterday. When Celebrity turned off the Wi-Fi about 820 in the morning I was not able to get back onto the Internet till probably 730 or 8 o’clock at night. I went to the IT people who are blaming the lack of Internet on the Solstice being in port the same time we were. Even  an hour after we left port there was still no Internet connection I finally gave up and watched a movie and went to bed. This morning I spent 40 minutes at breakfast and I was kicked off six different times.  I had no issues with the Internet between Tokyo in Vancouver.  So I’m going to make several small short posts to ensure I don’t get kicked off and have to start over again.

We were Well aware yesterday would be hurry up and wait day. For me it wasn’t too bad since I was staying on the ship but it did take more than an hour and a half to do the back to back getting off going through immigration and coming back on the ship. The ship was delayed slightly and letting people off in the morning and we are also delayed in leaving I heard rumors that they were waiting for luggage but I have no idea if they’re true or not. Here are acouple pictures from the Sunset bar. yesterday it was a beautiful day 82° you could not ask for better weather and I’ve also posted yesterday’s daily’s.

Yesterday’s daily’s, captains club Info as well. I missed the Cruise Critic gathering because I didn’t open the envelope till this morning.  I have never had a cruise critic meeting the very first night on the ship .

Today is Ketchikan the weather is beautiful. Couple of pictures from my balcony I thought Vancouver was bad with three ships in port. today there are four ships in, the solstice and it looks like the Ruby Princess and maybe one other princess ship but I can’t see their sign from where I am. downtown it’s already crowded. I can remember when catch account was a sleepy town and only one ship in port believe me those were the days!!!

PS Sitting having coffee and have heard others say there are 5 ships in🤭😢

We joined in Vancouver on Friday. Worst port in the world if suite or Zenith. No priority whatever!!! One check in agent for everyone Concierge, AQ, Elite Plus, Zenith or Suite. Then had a room with 500+ plus passengers from both Solstice and Millennium waiting for boarding to start. Instead of letting the suites board first they did it first come first onboard. Fifty feet later was the MCC to escort suite / zenith onboard.

Yesterday morning at 9:30 AM in Cafe Al Bacio two four tops each had just one person at each literally sleeping. MANY passengers walking around looking for a table to sit at. Celebrity did not seem to care.

Eleven AM currently. Still waiting for cabin steward to even start making up the cabin!

Thank you for all the information. We are looking at this cruise for next year.

Maybe someone could explain to me why it costs $14 per day plus 20% gratuity to upgrade from Classic to Premium Alcohol Bev Package. As far as I can see it is $59 +20% for the Classic and $69 + 20% for the Premium each day. Maybe I’m missing something. We have the Classic as part of the offer on our next cruise and plan to upgrade to the Premium. Maybe it costs less to do it before boarding. I’ll need to phone and find out .

Good question I've just seen an option to upgrade on my upcoming cruise in my login from $12 per day so I'm confused also.

I am not sure if you know what you have done here, but here is a suggestion.

Don't post documents with your First and Last name.
My suggestion is go back and edit the original post and re-post the photos with the last names blacked out.
In your Avitar it shows your home town.
It won't take me more than 5 minutes to find where you live and your address. With this people know you are NOT at home and won't be home for some time.

You have just outed your friend too.

The Grand Princess is anchored in the channel and Golden Princess is at the pier. Golden, Grand and Ruby are the same class but Golden has a distinctive structure at the rear. Ruby headed back to California from Vancouver.

I have read a few month of May horror stories about Vancouver.  Hopefully they get their act together.  Don’t want a room of 500+ for anyone!

That makes sense. $10 difference + 20% gratuity makes $12. Mus be more expensive to wait until boarding .Don’t understand why though.

Not sure if the correct answer but a guess. Many people received the drink package as a perk. Could  be Celebrity‘s way of getting people to upgrade without doing the math that you did. Not sure If you tried to upgrade prior to getting to the ship that they would charge you the $10 a day plus the 20% gratuity.

Sorry to hear about all your issues boarding, I know that Celebrity was not prepared , it’s a shame it’s not the first time and probably won’t be the last. I heard people stood in line for 2 hours for immigration.

I am a solo traveler this cruise and I sit in Al Bacio alone, I am very open to sharing a table with others, not so happy about the sleepers or card players ...
