Using non-refundable OBC in the casino without a cash account

Recommended Posts

We have a cruise coming up in June on Radiance.  We don't want to mess with a cash account, so we plan to put down a credit card when we do online check-in.  We are getting $800 in OBC from our TA (so I assume that will be non-refundable OBC?).  Will we be able to use the non-refundable OBC in the casino, subject to a 5% fee for "withdrawing" it?  I'd rather pay the 5% fee than mess with settling up a cash account at the end of a cruise.  If we can use the OBC in the casino, how will that work?  We will want chips to play blackjack.  Will they be promo chips, such that we can only cash out whatever we win?  Thanks!

I had $375 in non-refundable OBC. After allowing for gratuities, I still had a little over $200. I went to the casino desk, told them to take it from my OBC, and was given two $100 vouchers. I played a dollar on each one for the hell of it. Cashed them in the next day and was given $198 in cash, no questions asked.

The 5% was paid up front.

I would not use the word "OBC" at the casino cashier.  Just tell them you want a cash advance against your onboard account.  You can probably still get cash if you say you are playing one of the live games, like craps or blackjack.

They don't give you cash anymore. If you want chips (table game play) you get chips at the table. They are regular chips not promo chips and can be cashed in.
