We are going to purchase 400.00 in Carnival Gift Cards using the AARP discount so our cost will be 360.00. We are then going to add the 400.00 to our S&S card, with our credit card as a backer. Seems like about the best we can buy Cheers for would be roughly 548 using AARP gift cards. If we end up going over the 548 then we know to buy Cheers next time. If we go under the 548 then we made the right decision. At the end, if we have money left from the gift cards on the S&S then we can use the Casino to cash them out. Good Luck and make sure you order something you like. With Cheers it gives you an opportunity to try something new and if you don't like it you're not obligated to drink it. If you're paying on your own, it would be a shame to waste the 28+ on a round of 2 drinks including grat at the Alchemy Bar. With Cheers it's not a problem, you just try something else and the only thing you're out is two drinks out of the maximum of 30 you've paid for. That peace of mind is another positive of Cheers.
